For this Merit Badge Class you will be required to work on several of the requirements before coming to the class.
Requirement # 8 … In order for you to have your Merit Badge signed off at the end of the class you must bring a copy of the letter you sent to either of your State Senators, or your congressional district’s Congressman. Please work on this prerequisite FIRST so there is a better chance of your receiving a reply before coming to class.

NOTES: Georgia has 48 National Historic Landmarks with 8 in Atlanta, and many more locations on the National Register of Historic Places, the closest Historic Site to our Troop being Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield. The Georgia State Capitol offers Self-Guided and Scheduled tours 8am to 5pm Monday thru Friday, Sept - Dec 2011.
Requirement # 3 … In order for you to have your Merit Badge signed off at the end of the class you must bring to class a written [or printed], one page table listing the issues of ‘National’ importance that you saw [on TV news channel] or read [in a major daily newspaper] over the five consecutive days. Don’t forget to pick one of these issues and make notes in your Workbook about how it affects you and your family.
Requirement # 6 … In order for you to have your Merit Badge signed off at the end of the class you must have chosen a speech of National importance, and completed the instructions for requirement 6 in your Workbook before you come to class. Be prepared to discuss your speech with your Counselor in class.
Time permitting, we will also be taking an online team quiz during the class. The questions to be answered during the quiz will be sent out to you in your Citizenship in the Nation merit badge class welcome email. Researching the answers before coming to class is highly recommended.
